I am back with another submission for the Color Throwdown blog challenge.
This week’s challenge included 4 colors, hot pink, lime, yellow and a pale blue.
A long while back, I purchased the Cool Treats stamp set from Stampin’ Up and had not yet inked it up. These colors reminded me of cool popsicle treats purchased from the ice cream truck in the summertime. So I went to work creating a bright background on a 4.25×5.5 white cardstock panel. I stamped 2 popsicle images in hot pink, lime green and pale blue. For the sticks, I used yellow. Because the yellow was only used on the sticks, I smooshed the ink down each side of a top folding white notecard. I then trimmed my stamped panel down to 4×5.5 and adhered it to the notecard. Going back in with my shimmer pen, I added some shine over the yellow ink on the notecard.
With the same yellow ink, I ombre blended on a scrap piece of white cardstock and die cut the sentiment Celebrate from PaperTreyInk. I also die cut the sentiment from craft foam and glued it to the sentiment to offer dimension once it was added to my card front. This was finished with some shimmer pen. On a piece of black cardstock, the remainder of the sentiment is white heat embossed and clear sequins were added for sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your week!
